Policies

Editorial Policy

The standards we aim to follow when preparing educational resources.

Effective date: 3 November 2026

Purpose and audience

OopsGene publishes practical educational resources for students, graduates and early-career researchers. Topics include Bioinformatics, scholarships, internships, fellowships, academic writing, research skills and related student guidance.

Original and useful content

We aim to explain topics in our own words, organize information so readers can act on it and add context rather than simply repeat another website. Guides should be written for people first. Search phrases help us understand what readers need, but they do not replace accuracy, clarity or usefulness.

Sources and opportunity listings

When content discusses a named scholarship, internship, fellowship, university requirement or application deadline, we aim to refer readers to the official provider or institution. The official source should be treated as final if details differ. We do not invent live listings, eligibility criteria, funding amounts or deadlines. If a listing cannot be checked, that limitation should be stated clearly.

Review and updates

Time-sensitive content should be reviewed when new information becomes available and when a reader reports a possible change. Material updates may be shown with an updated date. Expired opportunities should be removed from current listings or clearly marked as closed where retaining them is useful for reference.

Corrections

We welcome specific reports of factual errors, broken links, unclear instructions and outdated deadlines. Send the page URL, describe the issue and include an official source when available. We review correction requests and update the page when a change is warranted. Contact talharaziq@outlook.com.

Independence and conflicts

OopsGene is an independent educational information project. A link to an institution or opportunity does not mean that the institution endorses OopsGene. If sponsored or affiliate relationships are introduced in the future, they should be identified clearly and should not determine the factual conclusions of educational content.

Authorship and responsibility

Articles display an author or editorial-team byline. Content is prepared for general educational use and should not be treated as a substitute for official instructions or individualized professional advice.
